Inventor, technician, and artist Paul Schatz succeeded in discovering the shape of the OLOID already in the 1930s. This closed geometric form moves by rhythmically tumbling over a surface. By now, 80 years after the magic moment of this discovery, oloids are used by a large number of different industries.<\/p>\n
When mixing and homogenizing liquids, the oloid proves the advantage of rhythmizing something and, besides, allows for an enormous energy efficiency.<\/p>\n
Kuboid GmbH has repositioned itself and developed a pendant luminaire series based on the shape of the oloid in co-operation with our designer Felix Hediger and Domus Licht GmbH. Our team aims to offer customers an optimum combination of creativity, technology, and quality.<\/p>\n
The shape of the oloid provides the FLOYD series of pendant luminaires with its simplicity of design and special appearance within a room. You can walk all around FLOYD luminaires and will be surprised to discover that, time and again, a different lamp seems to float in the room. In daylight, the lamps look like weightless sculptures that magically attract a viewer\u2019s gaze.<\/p>\n
